A Walk in the Dark

Take a walk with me,
Come now, let us embark,
A safari of all that is and will be,
Take a walk with me in the Dark.

Ghosts, spirits, and screamers,
The Legions of Undead,
Feel free to approach the remains of these dreamers,
But, beware, they are unfed.

Do not be afraid, love,
They were forsaken, their souls are now bound,
They were shunned by the sky above,
Now look at the new lives they have found.

Here lies the ones who lied,
The ones who sinned,
And later died,
Here lies the ones who feigned good heart.

Delay your death as much as you please,
But you are doomed to fail,
When life is so frail,
These poor souls tried to survive,
Now listen to them wail.

Chilling you to the bone,
In this place where you go to die,
Cease, now look upon this stone,
This is the plot where I currently lie.

It seems you've reached the end,
Your soul has been given the mark,
You are now bound to this place, my friend,
Enjoy your stay in the Dark.
Derived from the idiom, "A Walk in the Park." This is also the title of the book I am working on.
